Jess joined the Klamath Soil & Water Conservation District in 2026, working closely with NRCS focusing on supporting private forest land owners with the planning, implementation, and improvement of timbered lands. This role will also include serving as a liaison and technical advisor between forest management authorities and stakeholders.

Before moving to Klamath County, she earned a BS in Conservation Ecology from the University of Utah and a Masters in Environmental Management from Western Colorado University. From grazing cattle for regenerative agriculture on the Western Slope in Colorado to urban stream restoration projects in Salt Lake City Utah, practicing land management has taught her the significance of sharing knowledge and involving local communities to ensure the healthy use and regeneration of our natural resources. There's an environmental steward in all of us. 

In her free time, you can find her avidly baking gluten-free treats, rock climbing, and growing or foraging her own food to preserve for the winter.
